“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate.” Jung

I am a lifelong student of human consciousness.

In seeking answers, I travelled widely and engaged in several careers; I have worked in earth stewardship, environmental activism, indigenous rights and questions of indigeneity, sustainability, women's rights and domestic issues, feminist initiatives and the science of consciousness: human and otherwise.
I have lectured extensively on cultural mythology, comparative religion, the occult sciences, the Pagan traditions, witchcraft and the history of the Goddess religions both at a local level (including Continuing Studies at Royal Roads) and throughout several venues in the UK including courses on the Celtic traditions at the Findhorn community in Scotland and as a guest lecturer in Wales on the Arthurian legends and the Grail Cycle.
The quest continues. I'm currently engaged in a writing project entitled The Books of Love: The Unknown Story of Jesus and the Magdalene. This has led to an intensive study of 1st century Judeo-Christian politics, the rise of Western orthodoxy and its consequences for humanity and for the planet.

I am at your service.

About this lecture:

The Sacred Marriage is one of the oldest and widest held cultural motifs known to humankind. This ancient mythological, archetypal union represents the sacred dance of the opposites, feminine and masculine, that guarantees the fertility of the land, the prosperity of the community, the balance and continuation of the very cosmos. For thousands of years throughout multiple cultures and lands, the Great Goddess, portrayed by a priestess, conferred kingship on a chosen bridegroom by virtue of their marriage and through this re-enactment maintained the yearly cycle of life, birth, and regeneration.

But history has not been kind to the concept of the Sacred Marriage. The rise of dominator cultures and the denial of the power and sovereignty of the Great Goddess ruptured the archetypal balance and has arguably brought the world to the brink of spiritual, ecological and climate catastrophe. In this lecture we will look at the sacred marriage in detail, delve into the mythological repercussions of the breaking of the sacred vows for both men and women today and consider how to re-sacralize the Divine relationship and thus, our very lives and communities.
